On September 19, thousands of people came together at Venice Beach for the World’s Largest Beach Cleanup, breaking a world record in the process. Love Button Global Movement was honored to be an official community partner and help turn a day at the beach into a powerful example of love in action.
More than 3,000 people signed up, with just under 1,000 coming through the Venice Beach cleanup site. For four hours, volunteers worked together to care for the coastline and the community we share.
Love Button joined Deep Blue, StokedPlastics, Opolis Optics, Akasha Superfoods, OoMee, KOOK, and other organizations to bring people together for a day of action along the coast.
Our Impact
Over four hours, volunteers collected trash from the Venice Pier to Rose Avenue:
- 3,000+ people signed up to participate
- 524 pounds of trash removed from Venice Beach
- 61.2 pounds of metal and large items collected
- 7.5 pounds of hazardous materials collected, including needles and broken glass
- 0.5 pounds of cigarette butts removed
- 4 hours spent working together to care for the coastline
7Seas Collective sorted, counted, and weighed every piece as part of the official world record effort.
Volunteers helped in every part of the day, from picking up trash and sorting debris to weighing buckets, checking in participants, distributing supplies, moving equipment, and documenting the event. Each person played a part in showing what can happen when a community comes together around a shared purpose.
But for us, the numbers are only part of the story.
At Love Button, we believe love comes to life through our actions. It is in the small choices we make to care for one another, our communities, and the world we share.
It can be as simple as picking up a piece of trash that isn’t ours, caring for a place we share, helping someone beside us, or showing up for our community.
When thousands of small acts come together, they become something much bigger.
One person. One action. One act of love.
Bringing Wear One, Share One to Venice Beach
Love Button brought its Wear One, Share One program to the cleanup. At check-in, participants received two Love Buttons: one to wear and one to share with someone else.

The program’s idea is simple. Wearing a Love Button creates a visible reminder to lead with compassion, while sharing one invites another person to carry that message forward.
In that way, the impact of the day could continue beyond the beach. Each shared button offered another chance to choose compassion, create a connection, and pass love forward.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and turned September 19 into a beautiful reminder that love in action can create real impact.
Together, we make waves.
