Love Button’s 2026 Back to School Campaign brought backpacks, school supplies, and everyday essentials to children and families across Southern California.
In partnership with Westminster Free Clinic, 650 backpacks filled with school supplies were distributed along with hygiene kits across two recent community events, reaching families in the Farmers/Oxnard region and surrounding communities.

Helping Families Start the School Year With Less to Worry About
For many families, Back to School season brings added expenses while they are already managing the cost of everyday necessities.
Providing backpacks, school supplies, and hygiene essentials meant parents had fewer back to school expenses to worry about, while students could start the year with the items they needed for school and at home.
“We are so grateful. This is going to help so many families at a time when it is needed more than ever.”
Lisa Safaeinili, MPH CEO/Executive Director, Westminster Free Clinic
Volunteers Made the Events Possible
Love Button volunteers played an important role in bringing the events together. They helped with setup, organized supplies, distributed backpacks and hygiene kits, welcomed families, and worked alongside our community partners throughout the day.
Love Buttons were also given to every recipient, extending the campaign’s message of love and connection beyond the supplies provided.
The events created a real sense of community, dignity, and connection. Families, volunteers, donors, and partners came together around one shared goal of helping students begin the school year feeling prepared and supported.
More Than the Supplies Inside
The campaign’s impact was clear in the response from families and community partners, who shared their gratitude for the support and care shown throughout the events.
Each backpack represented one less school-year expense for a family and one more student beginning the year with the essentials they needed.
Sometimes, a simple gift can carry a larger message: you are seen, you are supported, and your community is here for you.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, partnered with us, and helped make this year’s Back to School Campaign possible. Together with Westminster Free Clinic, we supported hundreds of children and families and met a real need in the communities we serve.
With gratitude,
