Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, marked the final destination for Love Button and Coldplay in 2023. Collaborating with Upcycled by Fuze Ecoteer and Selangor Maritime Gateway, the Love Button team embarked on a mission to clean-up waste.
Reducing Waste, Igniting Creativity: The Upcycling Mission
Upcycled by Fuze Ecoteer is a visionary organization dedicated to reducing solid waste in Malaysia’s waterways. The collected waste will find a new life as keychains, earrings, necklaces, and more. This not only addresses the issue of waste but also transforms it into beautiful and functional items, aligning with their self-sustainable business model.
In collaboration with Selangor Maritime Gateway, Upcycled has achieved a remarkable feat – the removal of 86 million kilos of waste from Malaysian rivers in just six years. This joint effort stands as a testament to the power of collective action in preserving the environment. Love Button is proud to be a part of this impactful journey.
A Memorable Surprise: Visiting Interceptor 005
Post the clean-up and a plastic workshop, the Love Button team received an unexpected yet memorable surprise. They had the honor of visiting Interceptor 005, a remarkable boat dedicated to collecting waste from the Klang River. This initiative, led by Upcycled and Selangor Maritime Gateway, utilizes interceptors to efficiently sort and manage waste, contributing significantly to positive environmental change.
Both organizations they continue to play a crucial role in creating positive change in the Malaysian waterways and the environment at large, and we’re glad to have played a part.
